Creamy Carolina Grits
Our Carolina Grits are milled by hand on antique machines by the fine family behind Marsh Hen Mill on Edisto Island. These grits cook up a creamy texture every time because they’re ground with love. Serve ’em up piping hot and dressed however you like for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Ingredients
- • 4 servings grits
- • 4 tablespoons (½ stick) butter, at room temperature
- • ½ cup homemade or high quality purchased pimento cheese (hint hint)
- • ½ pound sliced bacon
- • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, cut in half
- • 1 large onion, diced (about 1 cup)
- • 4 cloves garlic, minced
- • 1½ pounds shrimp, rinsed, peeled, and deveined
- • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
- • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- • 3 green onions, thinly sliced (white and green parts)
